There is nothing clear and simple about faith. The Bible purports to have answers, but often contradicts itself. The church assumes the authority of interpreting the will of God, but then shamelessly entangles God’s interests with its own. Personal faith launches us upon a journey of discovery that may reflect our religious allegiances, but it ultimately demands that we find our own way, discern our own signs, and become in the process the unique people we were created to be.
Faith at the Edges: The Mysterious Ways of Soul invites you to consider the ways God / the Universe / Spirit calls to you from the hidden places of your life—from your dreams, from your neuroses, from life’s synchronicities, and from your connection to the natural world. Learning to discern how the Divine speaks to each of us, personally, is a lifelong quest. Getting it right is seldom the point. Becoming who we are usually is. Faith at the Edges asks us, first, to pay attention, and then to take the next step Mystery offers us. It is a slow unfolding rather than a sudden revelation. But it is nothing less than a thrilling ride!
